I forgot to tell you: I’ve started a 30-day challenge at my yoga studio. I’m on day 8.
It’s…well, it’s going. I’ve done enough of these challenges to know that usually the tougher days outweigh the great, euphoric days, so I’m just trying to practice patience and breathe my way through the soreness, the stiffness, the aches and the pains. I’m also pretty proud of myself for even getting to day 8, considering I’ve been off and on sick for the past week, coughing and sniffling and carrying around a head that feels like it weighs about 90 pounds. But, to the yoga studio I go, every…single…day.
And, I just signed up for November’s National Blog Posting Month. So it looks like I’ll be coming here every day, too. Bet you’re psyched, huh?
I’ve felt a slight lack of inspiration ’round these parts lately, so I’m looking at this blog challenge as a chance to play with writing again. To not stress about putting together the perfect post or crafting just the right collection of thoughts. To blogging about the most mundane thing to the most meaningful moment. To waxing poetic or…not.
So, here’s your chance to ask me that random question you’ve always wanted answered, about yoga, Boston, music, books, writing, life, me, whatever. Ask, and I shall answer!
Because let’s face it—I’m probably going to need a healthy dose of help and inspiration to plow my way through 30 days of blog posts. Gulp.
To NaBloPoMo or not to…. that is the question. Girl, you might just inspire me. And later, I may hate you for it.
DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!! Please?
if you write everyday than I will write everyday. and forget about great post’s, anything’s game. it will be my 30 days away challenge.
Yes! You’re on! Oh, hello, challenge buddy.
Yay! I am so glad you’re attempting NaBloPoMo with me! This is going to be fun! (And I promise to come and cheer you on every day!)
A question for you: What do you love most about Boston?
Aww, thanks, San! You were definitely my inspiration. Shoot. I should have given you credit. Well, there’s always tomorrow.
And thanks for the question! Great post topic.
Hey Hannah, if you are interested I would love to have you write a guest post for your blog and mine during your challenge
Let me know!
Also, some possible topics to post on:
- gender and yoga; masculinity and femininity in the hot room; Do you notice a difference when men teach in comparison when women do?; How do you witness yoga as a tool to bring together members of a local studio, and of a world community, regardless of gender?
- studios you’d love to visit
- goals for the future of your yoga practice
- posture clinic: tips on your favorite (or least favorite!) poses
- winter recipes
- awesome books you’re reading
Keep up the awesome work, lady! Will be following your posts.
XO,
Rachel
My goodness! That’s quite a list of ideas! I like it! E-mail me about the guest posting, and we can talk. Great post suggestions, though!
Good for you and your challenges. I hope they break down doors and open windows for you!
I will be reading!
Thanks so much, lady. As always.
A double dose of challenge! Blogging and yoga! Yay! I can’t think of any questions right now, but I will certainly read your Nov. posts….all of them!
I’m really impressed you are dragging yourself to yoga while feeling sick as a dog. I hope you feel better soon. Warm hugs from Vegas…..
Well, you know where to find me when you DO have questions.
Good LORD, you’re feeling ambitious… (says the girl sitting on the couch in the middle of the day, in an old sweatshirt, with a cat….)
Um, SO JEALOUS. Jerk.
1 – As always, I’m so impressed by you and your yoga and your latest yoga challenge.
2 – I considered NaNoWriMo this year, but after realizing all of my inspiration and interest in writing has completely dried up, I thought trying my hand at a novel might be a bit too much. So, I’m using the month to try my hand at journaling. If anything, I’m hoping it gives me some interest in writing again. We’ll see.
3 – Things to talk about? Hmmm. How about your favorite thing about Boston, an update on the new apartment, and other fun everyday life things?
Aww, I miss your writing, lady. And for the record, I’m definitely NOT attempting to write a novel. Whoa. No way. Just 30 blog posts in 30 days. That’s quite enough! And keep the questions comin’! Those are great starter ideas.
Go, Dog, Go!! Not that you’re a dog, it’s just that that title always pops into my head whenever I write go. Is it sad that Dr. Seuss is such a major influence on me?
Anyway – I love that you’re doing both of these challenges. I will read – eagerly.
I love your comments. I know I always say that but seriously. I do. I had a game night with friends this past weekend, and we played Cranium. One of the “Datahead” questions was something about completing this Dr. Seuss rhyme, “One fish, two fish…”, and I yelled out, “Red fish, blue fish!” And then proceeded to keep going. My friends were completely dumbfounded. What? Dr. Seuss RULES.
Hurray for you! You go girl and have not only one but two great, exciting, and challenging challenges!
Wahoo! Thanks, Christina!
Oh, and as for blog post questions: what’s been the best day of your life so far? And what are the books you can read over and over and still have them give you something new?
Ooo, good ones. Keep ‘em comin’.
right there with you. there are a lot of us slogging through november one post at a time, i’m noticing. we’ll all support each other!
Yay! This makes it so much more fun!!
Your post was the final push I needed to just go for NaBloPoMo myself. I’m looking forward to all 29 posts to come.
I have a question! Do you ever practice yoga alone at home? And if you do, do you have any music you listen to? I’m playing around with different playlists and I haven’t found anything I love yet.
Thought I’d ask
